News and Highlights from the Metzger Lab!  

March 20, 2024: Simon Schmidt selected as an ISMRM Junior Fellow for 2024 based on his commitment to the ISMRM through membership and attendance at ISMRM sponsored events as well as his publication history.  

March 20th 2024: Simon Schmidt was awarded the International Erwin L. Hahn Award for his work entitled "Improved 1H body imaging at 10.5 T: Validation and VOP-enabled imaging in vivo with a 16-channel transceiver dipole array"

December 21st 2023: Tobey Haluptzok took the 3rd place for the Sim4Life Lite student competition with his submission entitled, "Optimization of 7T Proton Transmit Loops for a Given Surface Area Constraint". 

September 29th 2023: Shinho Cho and Useong Yang took first prize in the poster competition at the 2023 Donald Gleason Conference on Genitourinary Malignancies with their submission titled, "Cloud-based computer-aided diagnostic system to localize and assess the aggressiveness of prostate cancer". held at the Graduate Hotel, University of Minnesota.   

October 23rd 2018: The CMRR and the 10.5T were featured in a LiveBIG segment which can be seen here.  
"At the University of Minnesota, researchers have designed and built a 10.5 Tesla MRI system – one of the strongest in operation – that will allow medical doctors and allied scientists to image the body and study the intricate tissues of the brain like never before."
